San Diego Yacht Club’s aging starting horn was getting tired and unreliable. Their search for a replacement that could arrive in time for the 2015 Helly Hansen NOOD Regatta led them to SailBot Starter. They placed their order and had the device in plenty of time to put it through its paces before sailors and boats arrived for a competitive weekend of racing.
The club ordered a Mega Clamp and Quick Release which allowed them to place the horn away from the Race Committee’s ears. This also allows competitors to hear the signals better as the horn isn’t in the cockpit of the committee boat.
By all accounts the event was a success and conditions were beautiful. Congratulations to SDYC for hosting another highly successful event and to all the sailors who participated!
